Nestled at the foot of the Lamberg hill in Chammünster, the Gasthaus Am Ödenturm is a delightful family-run guesthouse that immediately feels like home. My recent two-night stay, accompanied by my wife, revealed an oasis where hospitality meets charm, particularly in the warm welcome from the staff who went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Our evenings were highlighted by the exceptional food served in the welcoming restaurant, showcasing regional specialties with an unexpected finesse that would rival any fine dining establishment. It was delightful to savor the freshness of local produce and game, an experience that will linger in my memory. To add to the overall ambiance, the guesthouse's proximity to the natural beauty of the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park offered us wonderful opportunities for exploration. Though we had hoped for a lovely meal on our first night, the hosts graciously prepared an array of cold dishes that turned a potential disappointment into one of the best evenings of our trip. With clean rooms equipped with modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi and a stunning terrace for breakfast, Gasthaus Am Ödenturm is not just a place to stay; We will certainly return to share these joys again, possibly accompanied by our sons for a family getaway.
